After his incredible performance against the Suns, a lot of favorable publicity turned towards Edwards’ direction. Among them was when Mike Conley called his teammate a young Michael Jordan in an NBA on TNT video clip posted on the show’s official X account.

At age 22, Jordan averaged 43.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks in the three playoff games he played in 1986. Along with Edward’s offensive brilliance, his swagger definitely makes him a lot like the six-time NBA champion when he still played on the court.

The Timberwolves are slated to face Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the next round. This is the ideal situation to see whether Edwards can continue the narrative of being Jordan’s successor in the NBA. If he can eliminate the defending champions, the All-Star shooting guard gains a stronger case to be hailed as the second coming of the Chicago Bulls’ legend.
